Sources: US eyes more drone hits on terror havens
By LARA JAKES and ANNE GEARAN, Associated Press Writers Lara Jakes And Anne Gearan, Associated Press Writers 2 mins ago (early morning>> Mon. Sep,22,2009.)
WASHINGTON – The White House is considering expanding counterterror operations in Pakistan to refocus on eliminating al-Qaida instead of mounting a major military escalation in Afghanistan.
Two senior administration officials said Monday that the renewed fight against the terrorist organization could lead to more missile attacks on Pakistan terrorist havens by unmanned U.S. spy planes. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because no decisions have been made.
Top aides to President Barack Obama said he still has questions and wants more time to decide.
The officials said the administration would push ahead with the ground mission in Afghanistan for the near future, still leaving the door open for sending more U.S. troops. But Obama's top advisers, including Vice President Joe Biden, have indicated they are reluctant to send many more troops — if any at all — in the immediate future.
In weekend interviews, Obama emphasized that disrupting al-Qaida is his "core goal" and worried aloud about "mission creep" that moved away from that direction. "If it starts drifting away from that goal, then we may have a problem," he said.
The proposed shift would bolster U.S. action on Obama's long-stated goal of dismantling terrorist havens, but it could also complicate American relations with Pakistan, long wary of the growing use of aerial drones to target militants along the porous border with Afghanistan.
The prospect of a White House alternative to a deepening involvement in the stalemated war in Afghanistan comes as administration officials debate whether to send more troops — as urged in a blunt assessment of the deteriorating conflict by the top U.S. commander there, Gen. Stanley McChrystal.
The two senior administration officials said Monday that one option would be to step up the use of missile-armed unmanned spy drones over Pakistan that have killed scores of militants over the last year.
The armed drones could contain al-Qaida in a smaller, if more remote area, and keep its leaders from retreating back into Afghanistan, one of the officials said.
Most U.S. military officials have preferred a classic counterinsurgency mission to keep al-Qaida out of Afghanistan by defeating the Taliban and securing the local population.
However, one senior White House official said it's not clear that the Taliban would welcome al-Qaida back into Afghanistan. The official noted that it was only after the 9/11 attacks that the United States invaded Afghanistan and deposed the Taliban in pursuit of al-Qaida.
Pakistan will not allow the United States to deploy a large-scale military troop buildup on its soil. However, its military and intelligence services are believed to have assisted the U.S. with airstrikes, even while the government has publicly condemned them.
The Pakistan Embassy in Washington did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Wider use of missile strikes and less reliance on ground troops would mark Obama's second shift in strategy and tactics since taking office last January.
Such a move would amount to an admission that using a traditional military strategy to take on the Taliban with thousands more troops is doomed to failure, echoing Russia's disastrous Afghanistan invasion in the late 1980s and other ill-fated conquerors in the more distant past.
But stepping up attacks on the remnants of al-Qaida also would dovetail with Obama's presidential campaign promise of directly going after the terrorist network that spawned the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.
Over the past few weeks, White House and Pentagon officials have debated the best way to defeat al-Qaida — and whether to send more troops to Afghanistan to battle the extremist Taliban elements that hosted Osama bin Laden and his operatives in the 1990s and have continued to aid the terrorist group.
McChrystal has argued that without more troops the United States could lose the war against the Taliban and allied insurgents.
"Resources will not win this war, but under-resourcing could lose it," McChrystal wrote in a five-page Commander's Summary that was unveiled late Sunday by the Washington Post. His 66-page report, which was also made public by the Post in a partly classified version after appeals from Pentagon officials, was sent to Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Aug. 30 and is now under review at the White House.
White House officials have made clear that Pakistan should be the top concern since that is where top al-Qaida leaders, including bin Laden himself, are believed to be hiding. Very few al-Qaida extremists are believed to still be in Afghanistan, according to military and White House officials.
There have been more than 50 missile strikes against Pakistan targets since August 2008, according to an Associated Press count. Two weeks ago, a U.S. drone killed a key suspected al-Qaida recruiter and trainer, Pakistani national Ilyas Kashmiri.
A draft study by Notre Dame Law School professor Mary Ellen O'Connell found that drone attacks by the U.S. in Pakistan began in 2004, jumped dramatically in 2008 and continue to climb so far this year.
But the attacks target Taliban in Pakistan as well as al-Qaida, O'Connell said in an interview Monday, pointing to an Aug. 5 CIA missile strike that killed Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud.
"The only reason people think drones are successful is because they're doing a body count," O'Connell said. "They're not looking at the bigger picture" of Pakistani animosity, she added.
One of the White House officials said that Mehsud, an al-Qaida ally, was targeted as a threat to Pakistan at the behest of that nation's leaders.
On Capitol Hill, lawmakers divided largely on party lines over whether more U.S. troops should be sent to Afghanistan. Several said McChrystal's assessment shows that the American strategy in Afghanistan remains murky, and renewed demands that the general personally explain his conclusions to Congress.
"We have reached a turning point in Afghanistan as to whether we are going to formally adopt nation-building as a policy," said Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., a former secretary of the Navy during the Reagan administration.
High-level Obama aides said the Pentagon's case to send more troops was being pushed most aggressively by Joint Chiefs chairman Adm. Mike Mullen.
White House officials were caught off guard and reacted with displeasure last week when Mullen told a Senate panel that more troops were all but certainly needed in Afghanistan, and that a second report asking for the additional forces would be delivered "in the very near future."
Gates has said he has not decided whether he agrees that more troops are needed, and Obama made clear in his weekend interviews that he is far from ready to decide.

Historical Background

There are different stories about the initial establishment cause of Hazro City. One story was described by Khawaja Mohammad khan (Late) from his elders that about nine Hundred Years ago their forefather who belonged from Ali Zai branch of Durrani tribe during the region of Sultan Mehmood Gaznavi they lay the foundation of Hazro City. Ameer Hazer khan had three sons, Ilyas khan went to India” Ram Pur” in those days. The remaining six sons’ progeny was also in area of chhachh. One of his sons name was Haroon who settled Haroon.

Hazro City / Chhachh valley
There are several stories for the famousness of the Hazro City. One of them was related to Khawaja Muhammad Khan (Late) that 900 years ago his forefather Ameer Hazar Khan who belongs to Durani Tribe laid foundation of the city in era of Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi. Ameer Hazar Khan had seven son. One of his son Ilyas Khan left for Lampur (India) and the remaining six son settled in Chhachh Region. One of them was Haroon who laid foundation of Haroon Abad.
Famous English explorer Maj Rawai wrote majority of Ghorgasht Tribe resides in Hazro region. Writer of the book ‘Al-Afghan’ wrote that it is possible that Hazro City was developed by Ghizar Khan who was born 1018 (Hajri) during the regime of Mughal King Jhangir. Ghizar Khan was changed into Hazr and at the end it was known as Hazro. In some books Hazro was wrote as Hadro.
The history of that days was described in Book "Geografia Distt Rawalpindi" wrote in 1901 in such a way that "Long Date Palm Trees and white towers of the Mosques were seen far away. Population was about six thousand. There was a wall round the city called ‘Faceel’. Mahmood Ghaznavi fought Hindu Rajas in Hazro during 1008 and defeat them but the city could not grow due to the nearby dacoits who resides in the surrounding of Hazro".
2.. HAZRO TODAY
The Mixture of Old and New City.
At present Hazro develops like ideal town. Population grows more as compared to the old days. There are lot of big/huge buildings and populated markets developed outside the city wall. Beautiful and marvelous Towers of the Mosque can seem at far distance but few date palm trees remaining in the city. Molana Muhammad Rafie-ul-Husanni was constructed the first highest Mosque tower of 90 feet in 1980 which is 5 feet higher than Hari Meander of Hindus. Govt High School is one the old buildings of British era. Most of the big old building in the interior city were made by Hindus before Indo-Pak partition and after partition refugees from India resides in these buildings.
There were six entrance doors of Hazro city which were closed just after sun sat and opened earliest in the morning. During 1880 these doors were opened permanently on the demand of farmers. Four of these doors are still famous. The mostly known gate is called Kashmiri Gate which is on the West of the old city, a model of Ghaauri Missile is fixed nearby this door. Other than these known doors are Dhakki Gate & Ratila Mandi Gates. Now the name plates of Khufai-Rashideen are fixed on these doors.
3.. Educational Background
In 1985 a reputed Intermediate College for boys was constructed on a land of 100 Kenal in Hazro first time, which is on the North of Hazro City. Now degree colleges for boys and girls are present in the Hazro city.
4.. Administrative Control
In British era Hazro was an important Tehsil of Distt. Rawalpindi. On the demand of Chhachh residents Hazro was made Tehsil of Distt. Attock in 2004. A Union Council is also made in Hazro which is called Tehsil Municipal. In 1962 a Telephone exchange and in 1905-06 a Police Station were established for Hazro city...
Thank You!!
Hazro City / Chhachh valley
Yasir: When I started studying in Govt High School Hazro (1994), you use to recite Holy Quran in School assembly and in important events of school, do you miss that time?
Nasir: Yes really I miss those precious moments. You will be astonished that I have learned recitation from my elder Brother Shahid Tareen. He is also a very nice Quran reciter. He always listen Shaikh Syyed Mutawalli Abd Al Aal. I remain recites from my school to college. Because of recitation and Tareen Computer Academy, I was well-known and also got too many friends.
Yasir: Can you tell us your feelings when you come back to your homeland (Pakistan)?
Nasir: No one can explain those feelings in word, but I know one this, when we sleep we dream about our homeland, when we talk we think about our home land. On weekends when our friends get together we always talk about Pakistan our people our land. Some time things make us anxious when we hear bad news and problems of Pakistan. Even when you will ask a little boy living abroad; he will replay you that he is Muslim, Pakistani. But England is also now our country because we live there, we love it.
Yasir: Can you compare England and Pakistan?
Nasir: Look brother: Islam teaches us tolerance and equality. In UK we are not facing any difficulty, we are enjoying equal rights. We are not facing any difficulty in performing religious activities. We are living safe there. Nor we are making trouble for locals of UK neither they are making any trouble for us. They respect us we respect them. Some people who are not giving proper time to their children and just work 24x7x4x12, that is not good. I always give proper time to my children, my children go to school they always win 1st position in class, my seven years old son goes to Mosque and he can now read the Holy Quran. They know their elders and respect them. But it is because of my teaching, I give them proper guidance. I remember my grand mother; she taught us basics & stories about Islam when we were child.
Yasir: Do our people are attached to religion in UK?
Nasir: Yes off course they are. Most of the people are attached with Tablighi Jamat & other Islamic Jamat. Other religious people are also working there. In almost all the Mosques Shab-e-Jumma is performed. There is an Islamic magnificent Missionary Center (Tablighi Markaz) in Dewsbury; people from entire Europe participate in Annual Convention (Salana Ijtemah). Especially people of Chhachh participate in religious activities in spite of very busy life.
Yasir: Please tell us about yourself?
Nasir: I am a straightforward person; I honor others and get honored. Never abuse others. Just like to live with peace and harmony. I am 34 and never fought with any one in my life.
Yasir: Can you share your experience when you left for UK for first time.
Nasir: Simple, it is difficult to leave your home land, but some time you have to. My father is an educated person and he wanted me to continue my education. So I continued my education in UK. I got my first job through a friend as computer instructor, because that institution was in need of a computer teacher who could speak Urdu, Pashto and English. So I started my job in very beginning.
Yasir: Would you like to tell us some about your friends?
Nasir: Most of my friends are from Chhachh, Mirpur & other areas. My best friends are Fida Ahmad & Muhammad Ibraheem (Sheinka) and Sajjad Ali (Turbela), Shoukat Khan Aman, Parwez Khan, Safdar Babu, Rifaqat Uncle, Shamraiz Khan (Mirpuri), brother Khurram, Lala Tasleem Khan (Peshawar), Shahid Sagheer Sahib (Gujarat), brother Tahir, Maulana Aziz Sahib & Abdul Salaam Sahib (Malak Mala CH), Wajid bhai (Gojar Khan) There is a long list of my friends and acquaintances.
Yasir: Is there any competition of Chhachhies & Mirpuries?
Nasir: There is some difference between the culture of both sides. Chhachhies are more traditional and strict to their social values & Mirpuries are modern & advanced more then Chhachhies. The people from Mirpuri who are attached with Tablighi Jamat are also very strict to veil. But both live with brotherhood. Even their businesses are together. They respect each other.
Yasir: Is there any community center for Pakistanies?
Nasir: Yes there are. In our area there is a Chhachh Community Center. There are centers for Sharia, which resolves divorce problems according to Sharia & other cases. Name of our cricket teams are like Attock West bowling and west bowling. One of our friends Mr. Aurangzeb is running a cricket team with name of Chhachh. Mr. Nadir Khan from our village is also running their Sweet Shop (Attock Sweat Shop), also a meet shop named Attock Meat Shop located in Bradford.
Yasir: England is a multicultural county; people from all the continents are living there. Do your think that differences exist between Pakistanis and Indians?
Nasir: Indians are our neighbor and some time there is bickering on country level. But in UK there are not too many differences. Even Pakistani and Indian play in each other teams. They participate in each other ceremonies. Especially when there is cricket match between Pakistan and India there remains a thrill on either sides for their countries. Non Muslims do respect for our religion efforts. For example; in front of us, they do not drink or eat in Holy month of Ramadan.
Yasir: Sir what’s your Shop name & other activities?
Nasir: My Shop name is Tareen Computer Businesses, which is located in the area of West Bowling in Bradford. About other activities I love & play cricket, as U know Cricket is a famous game in Chhachh valley & also in Pakistan. I have a Cricket team, some of players are Indian.

Yasir: The best moment of your life?
Nasir: When I remembered The Holy Quran by heart at the age of 12 year. Maulana Sikandar Khan (RA) was the founder of first Islamic school in our village. He was very kind and missionary person. He was a real Sufi. He had bequeathed his life to serve the Holy Quran.
Yasir: Would you like to say something for those Chhachhi people who want to migrate to UK.
Nasir: Sure, They must go there for Education. But if some one is spending too much amount to migrate to UK, then it is better to invest that money in this country, it is our country and we should think about it. I am also planning to come back to Pakistan after completion of My Ph.D.
Yasir: Which section of www.HazroCity.com attracts more to the people over there?
Nasir: Entire site, because people want to remain in touch with Hazro & Chhachh. They always want to know the latest news & video clips about Chhachh. Majority of people check HazroCity.com on daily basis & they like it. Especially the News, Currency Rates, Interviews etc, that’s why Chhachh attracts them more. It is your appreciate able effort. As I told U before that when I visit the website of HazroCity.com first time through a link by YouTube.com, tears were rolled in my eyes. The majority of people like to make Wallpaper by the pictures of Chhachh valley from HazroCity.com. When people ask about admin of HazroCity.com, I tell them he is my student in computer. That is also an honor for me.
Yasir: As you are aware that some area of Chhachh valley is still backward in education and other developments. How HazroCity.com can play a part in this regard?
Nasir: Off course, HazroCity.com can play a significant part in this regard. It can become a proper forum to discuss the problems faced by the people of Chhachh. There should be an organization, which should collect funds for education and other needs of people, proper record of everything should be maintained. A separate section for all these activities on HazroCity.com should be dedicated, so the people who are funding can see the use of their donations. I will discuss this matter with our people in UK, also U have need to start a donate system in the web. So people will help you to improve more & facilitate the web or U may donate the extra amount to Welfare societies in Chhachh valley. I like the efforts of Sheinka village people in U.K. They are much organized & helping poor people in their village.
Yasir: Do you like to give any message for HazroCity.com visitors?
Nasir: Be positive; think positive for yourself and others. Tolerate others. Love humanity. Live with peace. Regard others so they regard you. Be prepared for life after death, deliver peace to world. My contact #, +(44) 798 880 7975.

Yasir Amin: Your incomplete dreams?
Nisar Ahmad: Allah has given me almost everything that I beg from him. Now I would like to have a Hajj journey along with my mother & other family members.

Yasir Amin: Sir would you like to please tell us about your nature and personality?
Nisar Ahmad: Well Yasir, I should confess that I am a very sensitive rather an over sensitive person. People sometimes complain that I don’t talk a lot so now I try to act like a talkative person (laughter). I can’t see even strangers in any kind of trouble.

Yasir Amin: Which type of people attract you?
Nisar Ahmad: Humble, Sympathetic & gentle in nature people really attract me. As for as our profession is concerned I really appreciate dutiful and sincere to their job people.

Yasir Amin: Do you like poetry and fine arts?
Nisar Ahmad: Yasir, though I have a very strong inclination and tendency towards poetry but I try to avoid it. It makes me depressed. During my college life I used to write both serious and funny poetry for college functions.

Yasir Amin: Your favourite perfume?
Nisar Ahmad: I love all kinds of perfume. “Hugo Boss”, “White Musk” & “City Excite” are my favorite perfumes.

Yasir Amin: What do you like to see in others?
Nisar Ahmad: Humbleness, Contentment, mildness of nature.

Yasir Amin: What do you dislike?
Nisar Ahmad: Arrogance and unnecessary harshness.

Yasir Amin: Are you a religious person?
Nisar Ahmad: Yasir, my guiding principle is
“Live for this world as if you will have to live for one thousand years and live for the other (eternal) world as if today is the last day of your life”.

Yasir Amin: Your favorite dish?
Nisar Ahmad: I like spicy food. Dishes made at the home attract me.

Yasir Amin: Names of the students of whom you expect a lot in the future?
Nisar Ahmad: Yasir! Now you are conspiring against me (laughs). If I mentioned the name of one single student others will be discouraged. Its difficult to choose a few students out of hundreds of students but I have expectations of Safdar Khan (Kotkay), Kashif, Suleman (Barazai), Aneeq Ahmad Mughal (Hazro), Gul Bahadur (Musa), Saeed, Sohail (Ghourghushti), Hafeez Ur Rahman (Qutab Bandhi) and Zeeshan (Nartopa). Insha Allah they will contribute to the welfare of our area and society.

Yasir Amin: People who are abroad and you miss them?
Nisar Ahmad: This is again a lengthy list. My brother Nasir Khan, my nephews (Abdul Basit, Ubaid Ullah, Shahid Salim, Khalid and Mudassar Salim, my cousins Saeed Ahmad, Mufti Hussain Ahmad, Shafaqat & Liaqat Zaman, Rashid, M. Qasim, Siddiq, Ahmad Nawaz, Ilyas & Imtiaz all are in U.K.) all are in U.K.

Yasir Amin: What are the real problems of Chhachh valley in your opinion?
Nisar Ahmad: I think there is only one big problem of Chhachh valley that is lack of literacy and general awareness. All the other problems arise because of this main problem. I give you one example, when you come to Hazro from eastern side (Our villages) you have to go through Motorway tunnel. You know tunnel looks like a river when it rains. Our people will daily go through dirty mud & water but never bother to inform the relevant authorities. They are unaware of their rights. Although the attitude of authorities is always discouraging in Pakistan but you have to inform them at least. There are only eight permanent teachers in our college. I myself have to deliver lecture to at least three hundred students daily. A single teacher has to take the burden of four over-crowded classes. In this modern age when the new generation is getting business and computer education our students are forced to study outdated subjects. I think people themselves should elect people who can provide better future to them regardless of cast, race & party basis.

Yasir Amin: Problems of Pakistan?
Nisar Ahmad: Feudal system is a big obstacle in the progress of our motherland. Absence of justice is also affecting our society very badly. In a society, where the law is different for rich and poor people how can you long for peace. In my opinion the whole social system needs to be reshaped .Parents, teachers and Ulema can play a vital role in this regard. Our nation needs a new generation who is well aware of the standards of living set by the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.). Our old generation especially politicians are suffering from moral and psychological diseases like greediness, vanity and inferiority complex.

Yasir Amin: What is the reason of moral deterioration of our society?
Nisar Ahmad: These problems are rising because of the evolutionary process also. You can’t absolutely stop them from arising. Actually our old generation had not so much exposure to the rest of the world. Our new generation is now aware of the social , cultural and political happenings of the world through print and electronic media. That is why you see our new generation copies the lifestyles of footballers, cricketers and film stars and the problem of generation gap is arising. Moreover the people of sub-continent suffer from a sense of inferiority complex and a sense of deprivation. I don’t exactly know why but our people are very fond of concealing their original selves. People are never happy with what ever they have. When a lay man goes to a office he is not even attended to while an influential man gets a warm welcome, even if he comes for an illegal matter. People are respected on social status basis not on humanitarian basis. Our politicians love to be printed on the first page of a newspaper distributing cheuqes among the poor and needy people but they will never do it for God sake.

Yasir Amin: Sir! Do you take part in the social welfare activities of your village?
Nisar Ahmad: In my opinion, a person should not limit his social activities to a specific area. One should try to help others wherever he is. This help may be in the form of financial support or just in the form of emotional support.

Yasir Amin: Your favorite personalities?
Nisar Ahmad: The most cultured, civilized and well-mannered personality of this universe is my favorite personality and who can be this except Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) in the personalities of recent past Shaheed e Pakistan Hakim Muhammad Saeed is my favorite. Moreover our teacher professor Ejaz Aslam Qureshi and my father (Late) Haji Fazal Ehsan both were very kind and graceful persons.

Yasir Amin: Your expectation from Chhachhies?
Nisar Ahmad: Our people should keep their traditions alive but at the same time they should adopt to the demands of twenty first century as well. In this age of globalization one can’t survive if he is cut off from the rest of the world.

Yasir Amin: What new segments would you like to see at http://www.HazroCity.com ?
Nisar Ahmad: As our teens are going through a period of SMS and hand phone mania., you can start a portion of funny SMS and poetry. A substantial coverage be given to local sports events specially those of cricket. In daily questions you can put up queries regarding contemporary local, national & international entertainment and political issues.

Yasir Amin: Your message for Chhachhies who are away from their motherland?
Nisar Ahmad: In my opinion, they should keep on helping the deserving poor people of our area. I often come across students who can’t pay their fee and have to quit their educational institutions because of poverty. Widows of our area often go through unexpressible circumstances. These women have to work in many houses to earn bread for their children. Well-off people of our area should help them. Many young girls are not getting married because their parents don’t have the money to buy dowry for them. Instead of donating their money to so-called social workers,. our people should help them through their honest relatives. Secondly, our people should educate their new generation. People of the remote areas of Pakistan are now sending their childrens to countries like U.K. and U.S.A. but our people despite living in these countries are not interested in getting their children educated.

Yasir Amin: A lesson giving incident of your life?
Nisar Ahmad: In this world, every now and then one has to go through such experiences, but the sudden death of my father was a big lesson for me in itself.

Yasir Amin: Your message for Chhachhies?
Nisar Ahmad: Stick to your traditions but accept the new ideas as well. Let’s abandon the politics and religion of sectarianism and enmity. Let’s join our hands to spread the smile of joy and happiness on the sad and gloomy faces of our people. Let’s pull ourselves out of the clutches of so called religious and political leaders.

Yasir Amin: Sir! Have you ever thought about your death?
Nisar Ahmad: Yes Yasir! Before going to bed in night, I always think about my death. I would like to leave such students behind who would carry on my mission of spreading the light of knowledge.

Yasir Amin: Sir, last question about you. Are you satisfied about your life?
Nisar Ahmad: By the grace of Allah, I have the habit to be always thankful to Allah whatever the circumstances are.

Yasir Amin: Your views about http://www.HazroCity.com ?
Nisar Ahmad: It’s an amazing site. I wonder how you manage so many things alone. I personally like the designing and lay-out of the site. I go through the Guest Book specially. As you know Yasir, I am very fond of photography so I really love the pictures of Chhachh valley in this web. I don’t think there would be a site like yours especially of a town like Hazro. I feel proud of your efforts. The way this site is getting popular you will soon be feeling very proud about it.

Yasir Amin: Thank you very much for sharing your past experiences, present views and future plans with us.
Nisar Ahmad: Thank you too Yasir bhai.

He was appointed at Government Degree College Hazro in 2005. A best student of his time is now spreading the light of knowledge in his own area. He is one of the pioneers of those who love to promote extra-curricular activities as well in this college. He is very soft spoken, well-mannered & down to the earth person.
Recently, Yasir Amin got an opportunity to have a detailed & candid discussion with Sir Nisar regarding his personal, past & professional life. We hope that the visitors of the website (http://www.HazroCity.com) would also enjoy this chit-chat cum educational interview.

Yasir Amin: Assalam O Alaikum! Sir how are you?
Nisar Ahmad: Wa Alaikum Assalam! Yasir Al-Hamdulillah, I’m all right, how are you brother?

Yasir Amin: I’m fine Sir; Sir would you like to please tell us about your family background?
Nisar Ahmad: Well Yasir, I was born in village Behboodi on 25th of August 1980. I belong to Saadat Khel tribe of that village. My grandfather Maulana Ghulam Rabbani (R.A.) and his sons Maulana Abdur Rauf Rabbani & Hafiz Muhammad Zahid need no introduction. Qari Saeed Ur Rahman is the brother-in-law of our late father. As you already know that he is a former MPA and provincial minister while his son Qari Atiq-Ur-Rahman is now very active in local politics. My father Haji Fazal Ehsan (Malaysia Wale) himself was a very famous social personality. Our uncle Sufi Mohammad Umar is also a famous person while my brother M. Nasir who is now in Sheffield (U.K.) is one of the famous cricketers of Chhachh area.

Yasir Amin: Sir our visitors would like to know about your student life?
Nisar Ahmad: Yasir, I got my early education from Government Middle School Behboodi while I did matric from Government High School Ghourghushti. During that period I memorized the Holy Quraan (By the Grace of Almighty Allah, I learnt it by heart). I used to write on diverse topics for national level children magazines in this period as well. In the examination of 8th class I got extra- ordinary marks & I was awarded scholarship by the Government of Punjab. I got all my remaining education from Government Post Graduate College Attock. I got my M.A. Economics Degree in 2003 & in 2005 I was recommended by Punjab Public Service Commission for the post of lecturer.

Yasir Amin: Sir did you participate in extra-curricular or co-curricular activities as well?
Nisar Ahmad: Yes, of course. As I have told you earlier I used to write in children magazines. I won a story-writing competition held by daily “Nawa e Waqt”. In college life I performed my duties as the general secretary of post-graduate economics society, joint secretary of Quaid e Azam Society and one of the only two student members of college management committee. I organized eid card decoration competition ,quiz competitions, cricket matches & picnic tours for fellow students. We organized a memorable “Hamd O Naat” competition at Attock College. So Yasir, there are many things to be remembered but I am getting a bit nostalgic now so let’s move to your next query (laughter).

Yasir Amin: Which teacher impressed you a lot?
Nisar Ahmad: I have learnt something from everyone but during my school life my teachers sir Dawood of Hazro & Sir Usman (Late) of Ghourghushti were very kind to me. In college life, I was really impressed by Dr. Mirza Hamid Baig & Sir Ejaz Aslam (Late) had a very attractive and graceful personality.

Yasir Amin: Sir when did you entered your practical life?
Nisar Ahmad: Yasir, as I have mentioned earlier that I joined Government Degree College Hazro in 2005 on the recommendations of Punjab Public Service Commission as a lecturer.

Yasir Amin: Your first impression of Government College Hazro?
Nisar Ahmad: Excellent… Actually I remained almost cut off from our own area for around six years as I spent my that period in Attock city. Overall behavior of the teachers of Government Degree College Attock was not friendly towards their students. They were rather arrogant or it was their professional compulsion. Students were also a bit disobedient. In contrast to that Hazro college is a dream college. Teachers are very keen & committed. The building is magnificent and most of all students are very obedient and soft spoken. I am really proud of my students.

Yasir Amin: Sir, your other hobbies?
Nisar Ahmad: I play cricket or volley ball along my friends in the evening & after Maghrib prayers I log on to Internet or read books. If I get bored then I go to Baithak and have some chit-chat with cousins and friends. On Sunday, I usually go to some picnic place and try to take some photographs of natural green landscape which is my childhood hobby.

Yasir Amin: A memorable and pleasant moment of your life?
Nisar Ahmad: Our father had been having problems with his health for may years. It was my earnest desire to achieve my goals in his life. I am very thankful to Allah that He made my dreams come true. I got my job when he was alive. I can’t express my feelings of the time when I gave (gifted) my first salary to my father.
Besides that I was appointed as an additional superintendent by the University of Punjab in the examinations of B.Com. That examination was held at the Iqbal Hall of Government College Attock. In the same hall I had taken my final year exams just a few years ago. So I felt very pleased and proud (Thanks to Al-Mighty Allah).

Yasir Amin: Sir the saddest moment of your life?
Nisar Ahmad: Our kind and caring father died on 26th of January 2007. His sudden death had a shocking effect on my feelings and emotions. May Allah shower his blessings on his grave and soul.
